UUCT Taking the Lead

Manna Logo

UUCT is one of the lead churches for Distribution Day for Manna on Meridian for November 18. What does “lead church” mean? While there will be lead/experienced volunteers for each of the functions, UUCT and St Stephen are responsible for having the bulk of “worker bee” volunteers. There are a variety of volunteer activities:

  • Assist collecting demographic information
  • Putting dry good bags in cars
  • Putting produce bags in cars
  • Making dry good bags for the month of December
  • Working on Choice tables:  produce or dry goods or the free table
  • Breaking everything down

Most Importantly, volunteers are the “face” of Manna – friendly, respectful and happy that we are part of a larger community. Manna serves over 200 families each month. Volunteering is a great way to get out in the community and meet our neighbors, and have some fun while doing so.

Who can volunteer?
Persons of all ages (young children must be with an adult). There are jobs for all.

What times?
7:00 am – Help set up (earlier if possible – our neighbors begin lining up about 6:15am)
8:00 am – Distribution and all other necessary jobs
10:00 am – Manna Distribution ends

Where?

The parking entrance is on Pinewood (between St Stephens and Faith). If using the front parking lot, walk around the building. If you are coming in the back entrance (where Manna is) it is the third driveway.

Please feel free to contact me at 850-443-7807 (text or call) or email manna@uutallahassee.org if you have questions or want to volunteer. RSVPS are NOT required; however, it would be great to have an idea.

Thank you.
