Adult Religious Exploration at UUCT has covered a variety of topics over the last several years. Many of the workshops have been offered with a Zoom and an in-person option to ensure that more people have the opportunity to participate. Below you can explore some of the workshops offered as well as some ongoing opportunities for engagement.

Centering BIPOC Voices

Centering BIPOC Voices is a monthly book discussion group with a specific purpose. The Centering BIPOC Voices book group reads books by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color authors. By reading non-fiction, fiction and memoirs we seek to better understand how racism and other forms of oppression affect all our lives. We expect better understanding will help us develop as anti-racists.

Soul Matters Small Group Ministry Circles

Two small groups, one meeting in person and one online, are currently utilizing the 2022-2023 theme based resources from Soul Matters. These small groups meet once a month throughout the year to reflect on the monthly theme based on a spiritual resource guide that is shared ahead of time.

The UUA Common Read

Each year the Unitarian Universalist Association recommends a Common Read for congregations. Reading the same book gives diverse people a shared focus for reflection and action. A Common Read can take us on a powerful faith journey into what it means to be human and accountable in a world filled with both pain and joy. The Unitarian Universalist Church of Tallahassee is taking a unique approach to the common read process with a variety of options for engagement from April to October of 2023. To learn more about this opportunity check out the Meridian Newsletter article.

You are invited to join a special Small Group Ministry, UU Explorations, for those interested in gaining a deeper understanding of what it means to be a Unitarian Universalist.
