Thank you to all the members of UUCT who submitted a Share The Plate request. It is clear that our congregation supports many worthy causes in our community.
This year, as part of our revitalization, we surveyed the congregation for their priorities. The results were clear: locally based, hunger, housing, race, and environment were the services most supported by UUs. We shortened the application and lengthened the submittal time. We asked for clarification on five applicants. We ended up with thirteen organizations.
We are pleased to announce that your Share The Plate funds will be supporting:
Big Bend Homeless Coalition, Bob Deyle
City Walk Urban Mission, Amy Doyle
Food Not Bombs, Rei Meyers
Grace Mission, Carolyn Pardue and Maggie Bowden
Humanists of Tallahassee, Warren Brackmann
Indaba Theater of Florida, Aun-Drey Brown
Kearney Center, Karen Share
Manna on Meridian, Carolyn Pardue
NAACP Local Chapter, Ed Oaksford
Re Think Energy, Kim Ross
Second Harvest, Carolyn Pardue
Tallahassee Community Action Committee, Robin Gray
Tallahassee Food Network, Rosa Morgan
We are developing the schedule and will publish it as soon as it is approved by the board. In the meantime, feel free to contact any of the applicants to learn more about the organization[s] they are passionate about, learn how you can get involved with them, and consider your funding priorities for the next year.
And thanks to the task force for their year-long commitment to the Share The Plate program: Marty Beech, Rev. Holly Brown, Rosa Morgan, Karen Share, Janet Temkin, and Linda Wright.
