Mystery of Festivus

Have any of you heard about Festivus? It’s an alternative holiday that is based on an episode of the t.v. show Seinfeld, “The Strike,” in December 1997. This humorous and unusual holiday is commonly celebrated December 23rd as a secular tradition centering family and good cheer. Festivus celebrations would often include a bare pole wrapped in lights, a table decorated with candles and candies, readings of funny poetry, singing of laughable songs, wearing funny hats, and exchanging gifts of play-doh. Join us on Sunday, Dec. 24th as we celebrate Festivus for the Rest of Us.

*Please bring funny (and youth friendly) poems, songs, left over Halloween candy, ideas of what you might make with play-doh, and a funny hat to wear during service.

Sunday services: In-person or virtually on Vimeo.

We unfortunately do not have a recording of this service.
