The board is grateful for the time and thought that members are dedicating to the improvement of how UUCT functions! This month several reports from congregational teams led to meaningful discussions about the use of the endowment, the asking budget, campus security, and the current governance experiment.

Thanks to all who participated in the recent endowment conversations, your feedback was important! At the February 19 congregational meeting to adopt an asking budget you will be hearing more about the endowment. You’ll also be invited to consider serving as a UUCT delegate to the annual UU Association General Assembly (June 21-25, 2023 online or in-person in Pittsburgh).

Thanks also to the many Listening Circle participants! It’s been a while, but your conversations provided useful information for the Developmental Minister Search team. The necessary paperwork is filed, and the search team expects to interview candidates in March.

President Kay Stuart-Tilley, unable to attend the full January board meeting, joined long enough to provide the required quorum of five. With the quorum established, the board voted to reduce the January meeting quorum from five to four and to choose Dan D’Arcangelis as the pro-tem chair for the meeting.

All votes made with the reduced quorum were unanimous. The board approved:

• The proposed asking budget, for presentation to the congregation on February 19th.
• Wording related to the oversight of the Social Justice Action Fund by the VP for Social Justice, to be added to the Manual of Policies and Procedures.
• Consent agenda items: the December Board minutes and the December Financial reports.
  The board also reviewed the proposed calendar for congregational meetings and the canvass (annual pledge drive).

Congregants are welcome to attend board meetings to observe or to address the Board. The next meeting is on February 23, at 6:30; meetings are regularly held on the fourth Thursday of the month.
