Greetings All! Most of you attend UUCT on Sundays and don’t know much about what happens at UUCT during the week. One of our recent large projects was pressure washing the walkways and then hiring Enviro-Mist, Inc. to pressure wash the roof on the sanctuary and clean the north side of the Annex building. We still have some more pressure washing to do in some areas. Another project is controlling vegetation and maintaining our tree canopy for safety purposes. We will soon turn a few of the large trees on the perimeter of our property into habitat poles or snags. These trees are hazards to the property owners that border us and it is better if we are proactive now. Smaller projects include our attempts to maintain the flowerbeds, trails, and playgrounds and we could use more dedicated volunteers in those areas. In September, we will start renovating the bathrooms near the Sanctuary. There are opportunities to help paint or pull up floor tiles, so reach out if you have time to help during the week.
Please check the volunteer page on the UUCT website for more opportunities to be a behind the scenes helper or show up on the workdays to support our efforts. Workdays start up again on the second Saturday of the month. See you Sept. 13 between 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
