Treasurer’s September 2025 Report to the Congregation

Current year pledges received in September totaled $8,710, a $4,358 decrease over August and only 44% of the budgeted monthly pledge income. Year-to-date pledge income was 13.6% of the annual  budget, or 11.4% below the 25.0% target. By including prepaid pledges, total current year pledges received comes to 32.5% of the annual pledge total. Prior year pledges totaling $317 were received, bringing FY 2024-25 pledges received to 96.7% of the amount pledged. Other recurring income of $1,035 brings the year-to-date total to 32.4% of the annual budget. Total budgeted income for the month was $10,061, or 48% of our monthly budget.

Two large, infrequent expenses brought September’s budgeted expense total to $40,555, or 164% the  monthly budgeted amount. The first of two semi-annual payments of $8,888 toward our UUA APF  commitment was made. Three large and/or difficult to reach trees were removed at a cost of $9,500.  Year-to-date expenses for Administration, Religious Exploration and Music ranged from 1.2% to 2.9%  below their respective targets of 25.0%. Committees were 14.2% below target. Due to the tree removal expense Building and Grounds were 7.4% over target. The total of all year-to-date expenses  was 26.6% of annual budget, or 1.6% above target. For September budgeted expenses exceeded income by $30,494.

One large non-budgeted expense for September was $1,198 for restroom renovations. Another was a  $969 realized loss on the sale of $20,000 from the Vanguard short-term bond fund that was needed due to the low balance in our bank account.

The scheduled transfer of $48,585 from the Endowment Fund was made in September. Despite that  transfer the Endowment Fund balance increased by $790 in September.
