Paying Attention in March: Gratitude Poems from Worship

A few congregants shared their poems and pictures inspired by the 3/15 worship in which we let Mary Oliver guide our attention to the unfurling Spring. It’s not too late to share yours!

Spring is here. Flowers show off their colors. Bees are busy gathering pollen.
The leaves are rustling. The birds are singing. The buzz in the flowers is music to life.
Early morning peace when awakening. Afternoon heat and evening breezes…
The abundance of new life and the joy of being…
Another day awakening… peace…
Love of life and for others… new growth…
Being alive… being together… being here
Gratitude… Awareness… Being…

Happy Spring!

This Thanksgiving I am thankful for
Fallen leaves crunching under my feet
The trail going off in the distance
Railroad bridge crossing over the trail
The Sun warming my face 🌞 🌞
My camera capturing life in detail
Words on the page illustrating the world
My TV providing endless amounts of entertainment
My phone connecting me with the rest of the world
My job giving me structure
My family providing lots of love
My friends providing companionship
This one ordinary amazingly wonderful life
