Meet the Moment Writing Retreat at UUCT
Poets, writers, and artists are invited to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tallahassee on Saturday, August 16, for a one-day Writing Retreat from 10am to 4pm beginning in the Sanctuary. Please join us as we Meet the Moment together in creative community!
Alessandra, the Director of Religious Exploration, will facilitate this offering which weaves in some materials and ideas from the 2025 UUA General Assembly: Meet the Moment.
This Religious Exploration offering is free with an option to buy a lunch with the group or bring your own lunch. This means folks can arrange their own lunch or can pay for a pre-ordered lunch. See the registration form for the menu options from Cava, which will be delivered to the church for those who order it.
Spots are limited to 20 participants for this RE offering. Register here to reserve your spot: https://forms.gle/JAzpxuif4P7gf6DS6
Childcare can be made available upon request before 8/9.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our one-day retreat will begin at 10am with some community-building and a creative writing workshop, then we’ll have time to write, wander, revise, or edit before lunch.
Lunch will be about nourishing our bodies, minds, and souls with food and fellowship.
After lunch, we’ll have more writing time and a mini-workshop about revising. Then we will end with an Open Mic in which participants are invited to share their writing.
Writing and art materials will be provided (paper, pens, and pencils), although folks are encouraged to bring their trusty tools as well (laptop, journal, preferred writing utensils).Contact Alessandra with questions and curiosities at religious.exploration@uutallahassee.org
