Date with Death Club, a new Adult Religious Exploration program starting 2/8/24!

On 2nd Thursdays from 6:30-8:30 pm, RE is offering monthly Date with Death Club workshops at UUCT. Please join us in this exploration as we learn about death with “less fear and more curiosity, with less euphemism and more reality, with less conformity and more creativity.”

Date with Death Club is:

• An opportunity to explore what mortality means to you with others

• Covers multiple topics

• Allows participants to come to the sessions they choose

• Includes self-reflective activities

• Created by a UU minister with a secular approach

• Justice-affirming

• For ages high school and older

• Encourages humor

• A chance to grow emotional resilience with regard to mortality

• Uses data/science to inform

• Respects different spiritual perspectives

What Date with Death Club is not:

• A grief or bereavement support group

• Promoting one religious perspective

• Psychotherapy

• For people who are seeking to self-harm or harm others

• Morbid or solemn

• A Death Café (which is relatively unstructured; each Death

Café does not specify a topic)

• A Death Over Dinner (which gathers one’s own family/circle

• for conversations)
