At UUCT, we are changing our house meeting format this year. House meetings are where people hear updates on CAJM initiatives, share their stories, and suggest issues for research and action, such as food insecurity or climate change. There is some interest in research and action on ways that local law enforcement agencies are carrying out federal immigration policies.

There will be a large “house meeting” gathering on Sunday, Sept 28 from 12:30 to 2 pm. At this meeting, there will be updates on our previous initiatives and on the process of choosing new initiatives for research and action. Then, we will break into small groups to share our stories. There will also be a “house meeting” gathering at Westminster Oaks (date TBA) and an online gathering during the first week in October.

The results of the house meetings will be gathered across denominations and  presented to the CAJM Network Assembly in November for a vote. Please try to attend one of these “house meeting” gatherings.

UUCT  needs one to two additional CAJM team leaders. This year, the team leader will not host a house meeting, but will lead a small group discussion and follow-up with network members from time-to-time. Let Carolyn DuBard (CAJM@uutallahassee.org) know if you can be a team leader.
