Happy September!
This is one of my favorite months. My husband and I both have September birthdays, I love the fall equinox, and it means that Halloween is getting closer. This year, it also means my baby’s expected arrival is getting ever closer! I am very excited about that.
As we enter this month of Building Belonging (the Soul Matters theme!), we have lots of RE and worship events to look forward to…
- 9/2, Worship Co-Lab, the first Tuesday of each month on Zoom at 6:30pm, is a space for us to work together and plan the next month of worship. On 9/2, we’ll look ahead to October.
- 9/7, Water Communion and Ingathering Multigenerational Worship: This annual tradition is a ritual service which invites us to mix water together as a calling-in of our community and the interdependent web of all life which needs water to live. Please bring with you a small amount of water that is meaningful to you. Water will also be available in the Sanctuary so that all can participate.
- 9/9, Parenting Circle, 8:30-9:30pm on Zoom. Join us the second Tuesday of the month in an online space after bedtime for parents and caretakers to be together and support one another.
- 9/12, Multigenerational Game Night: Our youth and families have been really enjoying these community-building opportunities. They are on second Fridays at 6:30pm in the Sanctuary. Light snacks will be provided. Folks are encouraged to bring something to share (food, drinks, or games) if they feel so inclined.
- 9/14, Coffee and Tea with the DRE at 10am in Room L: Families are invited to learn more about this RE year!
- 9/14, Nursery and Elementary RE Kickoff for the new RE year: we are using the Legos ValUUes curriculum and I’m excited!
- 9/14, Peace Sunday Worship with Katya and Tom Taylor and a rededication of the UUCT Peace Pole
- 9/21, GLOW Sunday’s Back to Church Worship and Fair
- 9/28, Worship Movement Series continues with Movement as Resistance: Following Worship as Medicine in August from Laurel Jordan and Lou Lobinske, this next installment will feature Fenix Moon and others in deeper exploration of movement as a spiritual practice.
- 9/29, my birthday!
UUCT and I need your support as we prepare for my parental leave which is scheduled to begin at the end of November.
Do you want to be a part of the Project DRE Baby Task Force?
We especially need help with…
- Worship Coordinating: coordinating Sunday worship like completing the Order of Service
- RE: coordinating RE activities
- Time for All Ages: coordinating activities for TFAA during worship
