I can’t believe November is here! This month is all about Nurturing Gratitude, and I am so grateful to y’all for supporting me as I’ve been preparing for my parental leave. I especially want to uplift the folks who are part of Project DRE Baby Task Force:
Childcare/RE Staff
- Sadie Ragans
- Gemi Moore
- Sasha Jacquet
- Zoe Sullivan
RE Coordinators and TFAA Volunteers
- Lee Chipps-Walton
- Janet Temkin
- Reeves Campbell
- Jennifer Carver
- Debby Tipton
Worship Coordinators
- Kim Ross
- Lou Lobinske
- Erika Frisby
- Fenix Moon
And Project DRE Baby Task Force is still accepting support. We particularly need folks to regularly volunteer in Elementary RE.
RE Dates most needed:
11/23, 11/30,
12/14, 12/28,
1/4, 1/11,1/25,
2/1, 2/8, 2/22
And folks willing to read stories or lead activities during the Time for All Ages between late Nov – mid Feb are also appreciated! Plenty of TFAA options and materials will be provided, but you can also bring your own ideas to Co-Lab or to the Worship Coordinators above!
My parental leave is set to begin on 11/24, two weeks before my due date. That said, babies and bodies can be unpredictable! My return is set for the middle of February.
Now, for what’s happening this month!
- 11/2, Social Change Now! Multigenerational Worship: Are you a builder? A storyteller? A disrupter? Many of us play different roles in the pursuit of equity, shared liberation, inclusion, and justice in our lives. In this multigenerational worship service, we will explore Deepa Iyer’s Social Change Now! and its Ecosystem model of social change and the ways it can support our congregational community and our wider communities. Social Change Now! is this year’s UU Common Read. Let’s share in reflection, learning, and action through the lens of our UU faith and shared values.
- 11/4, Worship Co-Lab, the first Tuesday of each month on Zoom at 6:30pm, is a space for us to work together and plan the next month of worship. On 11/4, we’ll look ahead to December (and a bit beyond!)
- 11/11, Parenting Circle, 8:30-9:30pm on Zoom. Join us the second Tuesday of the month in an online space after bedtime for parents and caretakers to be together and support one another.
- 11/14, Multigenerational Game Night: Our youth and families have been really enjoying these community-building opportunities. They are on second Fridays at 6:30pm in the Sanctuary. Light snacks will be provided. Folks are encouraged to bring something to share (food, drinks, or games) if they feel so inclined.
- 11/15, Social Change Now! UU Common Read Workshop for Adults and Older Youth: In this adult and older youth workshop. UUCT members, friends, and local community members are invited to engage with the 2025-26 UU Common Read, Social Change Now: A Guide for Reflection and Connection by Deepa Iyer. Unitarian Universalists are invited to explore Iyer’s work through the lens of our UU faith and shared values. Participants explore Iyer’s Ecosystem model, the roles that comprise it, and how these can support the congregational community and, in turn, our role in wider communities where we work with others for social change. RSVP here!
Want to get started reading the book? Members and friends can get a copy at UUCT for free while supplies last! You can also support our local bookstore, Common Ground Books, and buy a copy there.
- 11/21, Youth and Young Adult Movie Night: Youth and young adults are invited to a monthly movie night in Room 3. Join us in fellowship and fun from 6:30 – 8:30pm on third Fridays. This is especially suited for middle schoolers, high schoolers, and young adults between the ages of 18-35. Light snacks will be provided, and feel free to bring something to share!
Finally! Thanks to all who participated in the Monster Mash, the 10/26 Worship Service, and Trick or Treat the Church 2025! Here are some pictures and videos. If you have more to add, send them to religious.exploration@uutallahassee.org
