Care Team

UUCT’s Care Team is a vital part of the congregation’s shared ministry, expanding the reach of care beyond a minister or membership coordinator. In partnership with staff and Board, this dedicated group of lay volunteers is trained to listen with compassion, offer empathetic support without judgment, and maintain strict confidentiality.
Through phone calls, texts, cards, or arranging a visit, the Care Team reaches out to those experiencing isolation, loss, or stressful life transitions, offering a presence of care and support. For all members, supporting friends and frequent visitors (including spouses/families) within our UUCT community, the Care Team is available to quietly and compassionately reach out to provide a touch of support through life’s significant moments and meaningful life events such as:
– Birth or adoption
– Illness (self or family)
– Death in the family
– Surgery or hospitalization
The Team also organizes special gatherings such as monthly in-person potlucks and other opportunities for meaningful engagement.
The best part is that everyone at UUCT can be a part of the Care Team! Here’s how to help:
Contact the Team to let us know of needs you’re aware of—whether they be yours or someone you know at UUCT.
Also, we appreciate help at the potlucks with set-up/clean-up.
If you would like to become a frequent or occasional volunteer, we welcome you! Our monthly meetings are on Zoom on the 2nd Thursday of each month.
