Board Notes: June 2023

First, the news flash—The Ministerial Search Committee and the Board are in communication with a potential contract minister who would likely start in September! We will know more by the end of July. The Search Committee and Board will be working with the Transitions Office about how best to move forward.

And the candidate recommended by the Director of Religious Exploration Search Committee accepted the position and is scheduled to begin August 16! Watch for an announcement soon with more details.

Everything keeps getting better!

President Kay Stuart-Tilley updated the Board on Growing  Leading  Ourselves  Whole— the team that will lead our transition between ministers. GLOW represents groups, committees, and teams within the congregation (and GLOW is still growing). By the time you read this, they will have met to begin charting our way forward.

At the June 28 meeting, the Board approved: 

The May 2023 financial reports will be on the July consent agenda, to allow the board members time to review them. The bottom line is, May was a good month.

Out with the old, in with the new! The UUCT fiscal year begins July first. The incoming president is Len Adams, and Deborah Holt steps into his former spot as president-elect.

Board members VP for Finance Dan D’Arcangelis, Member-at-Large Brian Lee, and Secretary Gwendolyn Waldorf are at the end of their terms. The Board appreciates their service!

Marty Beech is the new VP for finance. Kay Stuart-Tilley moves from her presidential role to serve as a member-at-large. Once the Nominating Committee recommends a candidate for the board secretary position, the Board will appoint them, and the congregation will vote on the appointment at the next congregational meeting. Any congregant is welcome to address the Board at its online meeting or attend as an observer.
