Opening words and Chalice Lighting was led by Annette Pearce. Following a check-in with all attendees, the agenda was reviewed and motion to approve was passed.
Process Observer
Annette reminded all present to be mindful process observers. All present agreed.
Staff Liaison Reports
Sally reported she continues to meet with Adriane each Monday. Adriane is very busy and doing well. Sally also said the Care Team continues to put together Meal Trains for families expecting babies and she will be organizing one for Alessandra and Mike once Baby arrives. Annette is grateful to Alessandra for providing the Sunday schedules for when she will be on Parental leave so we can all help when and where needed.
Updates
Bonnie purchased and hung signs for all entrances regarding no weapons being allowed on the premises.
If we have any questions regarding the potential second Sexton position and/or the restructuring of the Sexton position(s), to let her know as soon as possible as she will be unavailable to attend our November meeting.
The Safety Team is continuing to work on providing trainings. Rosa will be getting back with the Safety Team regarding more details of the ACLU training after service on November 9th, 2025.
UUA Support and Trainings
Annette continues to work with other UU Churches around the Panhandle. There is a free training through the UUA on Zoom entitled “Leadership That Meets the Moment” on November 8, 2025 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Annette and Bonnie will be attending. This will be posted on the bulletin board and a room at UUCT will be reserved should anyone else like to attend together.
Right Relations and COSM
We are committed to having Right Relations with everyone at UUCT, this includes rebuilding trust and discussing relational issues regarding past hurts within the congregation. We are developing ways to do so and will be beginning this in an organized way come the New Year. Kim spoke with Erika regarding Right Relations trainings and how best to serve the Right Relations team and the congregation as a whole. The Committee on Right Relations and the Committee on Shared Ministry remains two separate teams. Both teams need more members.
UUCT Insurance
Kim was notified our property insurance will no longer be covered by Church Mutual as of December 23, 2025. Annette has reached out to several other churches regarding where they receive their insurance. She will continue to do so. Ken will reach out to local insurance companies for further guidance.
Closing Discussion
Process observations were shared by members of the Board.
November church lock-up dates were assigned.
Our next Board meeting will be November 20, 2025 from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM.
