UUCT Board Meeting Minutes

Thursday, April 24, 2025

Attendees included Chase Den Beste, Marty Beech, Annette Pearce, Kim Ross, Sally Andersen, Alden Hutchison, and Reverend E.N. Hill.

The meeting commenced with Opening Words and Chalice Lighting, followed by a general check-in among all attendees. The agenda was reviewed and revised, with an announcement of a closed session to follow the open meeting.

The Board then addressed the Consent Agenda, which included the March 2025 Finance Reports. Alden Hutchison agreed to complete the March minutes based on Sally Andersen’s notes due to Alden’s absence from the previous meeting.

Reverend E.N. Hill provided the Minister’s Monthly Notes, mentioning the General Assembly on June 18th and inquiring about potential delegates, as well as the possible use of Leadership funds. Liaison check-ins and choir reports were then shared.

A follow-up discussion on the Ministerial Consultation Proposal occurred. Marty Beech presented the Final Budget, leading to a motion to pass it.

Marty Beech also discussed Share the Plate Applications, including the parameters for applicants and presenting the current year’s applications, which were unanimously approved (Kim Ross recused). The THG Cooperative Contract was discussed and approved (Alden Hutchison recused), and the topic of Tax Exempt Determination was raised, with a motion to ask the congregational meeting for approval.

Reverend E.N. Hill presented a follow-up on the Mission Aligned Rental Policy. Chase Den Beste addressed Liability Insurance Requirements for sponsored groups like TIRA and TCAC, leading to a discussion. A motion to not seek payment from Mark Carter due to a misunderstanding was passed unanimously.

Kim Ross and Erika Frisbee discussed Training Plans and the Right Relations Team, including a potential congregant survey to identify trusted mediators. The meeting addressed filling up the calendars, lockup checks, and Board sign-ups.

Finally, the meeting adjourned for a closed session, with a link sent via email for further discussion.
