An Invitation to the Wider UU Universe!

The UU Church of Tallahassee’s Wider UU Connections web page includes links to several Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) groups and related organizations. Their programs give us access to a variety of newsfeeds, events, and relevant resources. Singly or in combination, these groups and organizations provide mounds of information and inspiration (for introverts as well as extroverts).

  • Start your year with 30 Days of Love by signing up through the UUA’s Organizing Strategy Team, Side with Love. Each week in January, you will receive a written reflection from staff; a conversation with a UU theologian; a multigenerational activity; reflection questions for journaling; a meditative body practice; and a coloring sheet connected to the weekly theme.
  • Join a Child Dedication Service centering Children of Color in UU communities (January 19) through DRUUMM (Diverse & Revolutionary UU Multicultural Ministries), a spiritual and cultural home for People of Color. All are welcome (register at the linked page). DRUUMM is a UUA Related Organization, a group in formal relationship with the UUA. It advances UU values and claims a UU identity but is not a congregation or covenanting community.
  • Participate in the Pet Loss Support Group (Jan 7 & first Wednesdays) or a free online cooking class: The Joy of Creating Together: A Plant-Based Meal (January 18). The UU Animal Ministry, another related organization, is offering both. Read more about these and other programs on the UUAM ongoing events page.

These are only four examples of countless opportunities you can explore on the UUA website.

Follow your heart and find your wider community!
