Message from the DRE/Worship Leader: May 2026

Happy May!

Sylvie is almost six months old already! Time really does fly.

This month, our Soul Matters theme is Awakening Curiosity. It begins with a multigenerational Flower Communion! This is one of my favorite UU rituals.

Speaking of Awakening Curiosity, have you heard about the new Small Group offerings for UUCT adults?

What are Chalice Circles?

  • A way to deepen our spirituality through shared practice.
  • A way to share our thoughts on life’s big questions.
  • A way to connect across age, gender, ethnic, economic and other differences.
  • A way to bring together the newer and the long time members in our community.
  • A way to deepen our practice of shared UU values.

Chalice Circle Topics (subject to change)

Would you like to help with Worship this month or next? We need Worship Associates and other Worship helpers in May and June. Email me at worship@uutallahassee.org to sign up for a date or get more info. We’ll cover a lot of this in Co-Lab on 5/5 too!

Religious Exploration is looking for Sunday volunteers! Are you interested? Email me at religious.exploration@uutallahassee.org

Bridging will be on May 17th this year. We’ll honor our graduating seniors (Kudos Anne Burner-Reeves!) Is your UUCT youth also graduating high school in 2026? We also like to honor all the mini-bridges we cross at this annual service, so I invite families with kiddos of all ages to attend this multigenerational service!

General Assembly for the UUA is June 14 – 21 this year. It’s primarily online this year, though we’ll have opportunities to gather as a community to participate. For example, we’ll livestream the Sunday Worship during our usual worship time, though it will end at 12:30pm.

Are you interested in virtually attending GA as a delegate for UUCT? Email me to get more info!

Harmony Camp: Web of Life is 8/3 – 8/7. We will explore interdependence, ecosystems, and more through animal encounters, working with plants, service projects for local animal rescues, and more! Registration is now live for campers, junior counselors, and adult volunteers!

Our Whole Lives programming is also being discussed. Our goals for the next year include offering a Grades 10-12 OWL program and a Grades 4-6 OWL program.

Thanks for reading!

If you got this far, please enjoy this sweet picture of my lil family at Tallahassee Nurseries (the dog and cats are well-loved, but not pictured!)

Lots of love,

Alessandra Nysether-Santos
