Unite and Ignite! Writing Retreat
Poets, writers, and artists are invited to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tallahassee on Saturday, August 3, for a one-day Free Writing Retreat from 10am to 5pm. Please join us as we unite and ignite our collective creative spark!

WHAT TO EXPECT
Our one-day retreat will begin with some community-building and a creative writing workshop, then we’ll have time to write, wander, revise, or edit before lunch.
Lunch will be about nourishing our bodies, minds, and souls with food and conversations about craft and troubleshooting our own writing and processes. Folks can bring their own lunch or can pitch in for a pre-ordered lunch.
We’ll have more writing time after lunch, and then we will come together one more time for a sharing space in which participants may share something they wrote or revised that day, or another piece they’d like to offer.
Alessandra, the Director of Religious Exploration, will facilitate this offering which weaves in some materials from the 2024 UUA General Assembly: Love Unites and Stories Ignite.
Materials can be provided, although folks are encouraged to bring the tools they use in their practice (for example, some folks are likely to bring a laptop for writing rather than a journal).
Childcare can be made available upon request.
