The Green Sanctuary Team reminds you to join Leon County Government on Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Eastside Branch Library and Pedrick Pond Park to engage in the pursuit of a greener tomorrow at the 2024 Sustainable Communities Summit. Citizens can register for this free event at LeonCountyFL.gov/Summit.
This year, the Summit will celebrate the theme, Reconnection: Linking Up with Local Sustainability. This event will engage the community in conversation about local and personal sustainability and will work to connect citizens to local, sustainable resources. Sessions at the event will cover a range of relevant topics, such as local food resources, the connection between people and nature, understanding sustainability from a youth perspective, and much more.
This summit gathers members of the community together to explore innovative approaches to sustainability. Informational sessions and social interactions allow attendees the opportunity to collaborate with experts and join in the opportunity to share their own experiences with sustainability while learning from others.
Register for this free event at the link above and find out just how sustainably you are living and learn more about how your everyday choices can lighten your impact on our planet’s fragile ecological systems.
