Spring Cleaning? We’ve Got Your Back!

As pollen season gives way to spring and we all decide (again) that we need to get rid of some stuff, there are places that will use some of your stuff.

All the following can be put in a bag and left in, under, around the Manna box at UUCT if you don’t have time/energy to deliver it to those who will use it.

Empty child proof prescription medicine bottles (labels removed): Animal Aid (2270 Boone Blvd) and also  a medical missionary team that travels a few times a year to S. America through Faith Presbyterian Church (2200 N Meridian Street).

Unused Christmas, Holiday, Birthday, Get Well, etc. cards (preferably with envelops): These are packaged and placed on a “free table” at Manna.  A number of our older neighbors still enjoy writing and sending cards through the mail.

Plastic flatware: Grace Mission (303 W. Brevard – Tues-Fri 10-4) and Kearney Center (2650 Municipal Way).

Brown paper grocery bags: Manna on Meridian (2200 N Meridian). If they are already doubled just leave them that way.

Reusable grocery bags: Manna on Meridian (2200 N Meridian).

Toiletries: Manna on Meridian (2200 N Meridian) and Grace Mission (303 W. Brevard).

Old (clean) bath towels: Humane Society (413 Timberlane Road) and Animal Aid (2270 Boone Blvd). Also any of the groomers in town would welcome them for drying animals.

T-shirts (clean): Manna on Meridian (2200 N. Meridian) makes these into reusable produce bags.

Plastic nursery pots (any size/color): Place in Manna Box at UUCT to be delivered to a person starting a nursery that will be giving plants away. Black ones only can also be delivered to Native Nurseries (1661 Centerville Road).

Egg Cartons: Place in Manna Box at  UUCT. There are a number of persons with chickens who use the cartons on regular basis; may as well give them a second (and possibly third) use.

If you can hold onto coats, sweaters, gloves, hats, etc. they will be needed in the fall. Storage space for everyone is tight.

Thank you for all you continue to do.
