Putting Care into Action

UUCT’s Care Team is a vital part of our congregation’s shared ministry, extending care beyond what a minister or membership coordinator can provide. In partnership with staff and the Board, this dedicated group of trained volunteers listens with compassion, offers support without judgment, and maintains strict confidentiality.

You can help strengthen this ministry by serving as an episodic volunteer and supporting the collective care of the UUCT community.

Episodic volunteer opportunities may include sending a card, providing a ride to church or appointments, delivering a meal, making a phone call to someone recovering from an illness, and other short, fulfilling tasks that make a big difference for our members and friends at UUCT. We call these opportunities episodic because they can be one-time or occasional commitment, allowing you to participate in ways that fit your schedule and interests.

Also, contacting the Team to let us know of needs you’re aware of—whether they be yours or someone you know at UUCT helps everyone be a part of the Care Team!

The Team also organizes special gatherings such as our in-person potlucks. It’s always great to have many helping hands to share the tasks of set-up/clean-up.

Whether you would like to volunteer regularly or lend a hand from time to time, we warmly welcome your involvement!

If you are interested in volunteering or to request contact by the Care Team or if you have questions, please contact us anytime at:  caring@uutallahassee.org or talk with us after service!
