Food for Thought: The Effects of Overfishing

Welcome back!

Food for Thought had a brief summer hiatus and now we’re back! Please bring a lunch for yourself and if you’d like, a vegan snack to share since we’ll be meeting at 12:30 after church on Sunday, September 10, 2023 in Room L.

This month’s Food for Thought – a Healthier You, a Healthier Planet will be led by Ed Oaksford. He’ll be discussing how the seafood industry is detrimental to our environment.  Did you know that overfishing has driven down fish populations by 90 percent and although aquaculture has stepped in to make up for losses, they too present the same problems of land-based confined animal feeding operations? To learn more about this, join us on September 10. Childcare is available by request.

After our discussion, we’ll talk about our future plans for the year, so please bring your ideas!
